1984 300SD vs. 1982 300D - cbryan0222 - 10-02-2010
I am looking to buy a 1984 Mercedes 300SD for the low milage engine and was curious if the engine in it was the same in my 1982 300D I've searched the internet and cant seem to find the information i need. I didnt know if the engine, fuel pump, and transmission were the same. can anyone help me out? I know the information is out there i just havent fouind the right sights and i have actually seen the 300SD to look at the serial numbers on the engine.

The only differences are the mount arms and oil pressure sender.

Wow the turbo added a whopping 13 horsepower! Good job Mercedes!!!!

Yeah its kinda funny how Mercedes isnt so race/power oriented.
Bmw and VW both seem to be.
Too bad Mercedes wasnt/isnt involved in MORE types of motorsports.

Yeah, 24hp. The turbo added 37hp, a 42% increase.
