my benz - rikardo_td190 - 01-06-2009 Hello, my name is Ricardo from Portugal and I am lover of mercedes benz, w201 as I have a 2.5 turbo diesel (122hp) turbo KKK, 5-speed manual, but unfortunately my engine is coming to an end, now I'm confused and I liked to know your opinion ... I was thinking about buying a w202 c250 turbo diesel bumpy and you get this engine to work without ECU with my injector pump and I get to 200hp is possible? And that will give more material in my w201? Differences? Has anyone done this? All ideas welcome ... Excuse my English but use a translation program ... Greetings MOD EDIT: Fixed the picture links. RE: my benz - tomnik - 01-06-2009 Hi Ricardo, my personal opinion is to stay with your current IP and upgrade to 7 mm elements and larger turbo. Tom RE: my benz - winmutt - 01-06-2009 (01-06-2009, 06:44 PM)tomnik Hi Ricardo, I think he wants a new engine and use the old IP to get around the ECU. Is the w202 a CDI? RE: my benz - tomnik - 01-07-2009 (01-06-2009, 10:49 PM)winmutt [quote='tomnik' pid='1973' dateline='1231285497'] I believe it is the rotary IP version (not sure). Rust and quality issues like on the 210 bodies! Tom RE: my benz - ForcedInduction - 01-07-2009 The C250 he is talking about would be the OM605, a car we can only dream of getting in the states. RE: my benz - rikardo_td190 - 01-07-2009 That engine (605) but to work with my injector pump (602 ).... more material that would give a car (w202) to another (w201)? Someone already did? Thank you for everything RE: my benz - rikardo_td190 - 01-14-2009 So what is the best engine for my car? om 602 vs 605 RE: my benz - ForcedInduction - 01-15-2009 Both are great engines but the 605 has far more potential. Converting the W202 to mechanical linkage for the pump would be difficult but doable. The hard part would be how the transmission would be controlled since its electronic too. Swapping your 602 for the 605 would be somewhat more difficult since it requires an intercooler. In either case, you would have to change the wastegate control to a normal actuator instead of vacuum control. RE: my benz - rikardo_td190 - 01-26-2009 Hello, I want to thank all the information and support they gave me, here are my latest changes, the turbo 1.2 bar, more 2cm cubic injector of diesel at the pump, and two turns of the screw ALDA ... but frankly I see little difference at the level of Power... Comment RE: my benz - ForcedInduction - 01-26-2009 Unless you upgrade the pump with larger plungers, you are limited to about 140hp worth of fuel in the W201. 1.2bar is too much for that, you barely need 1 bar. RE: my benz - rikardo_td190 - 01-26-2009 ForcedInduction friend because I can give you more diesel? It is that my father always discuss this with me ... and smoke because it also is always saying that diesel in excess it can from piston .. The 2cm cubic was my friend who was with the pump connected to the machine for analysis .. I wanted the car faster, my dad says I'm crazy loooooooooooooooool RE: my benz - rikardo_td190 - 02-06-2009 diesel as I need more? to 1.2bar? how many turns of the screw adjustment on the IP? RE: my benz - rikardo_td190 - 02-07-2009 help please RE: my benz - ForcedInduction - 02-08-2009 Even if you adjust your pump to push maximum fuel you won't need more than 1bar. RE: my benz - rikardo_td190 - 02-08-2009 if I continue with the project OM605 can count on your help? RE: my benz - ForcedInduction - 02-08-2009 The 605 is just a 606 with one less cylinder, it shouldn't be a problem to help with. RE: my benz - rikardo_td190 - 02-09-2009 ok, thanks to all ... my gearbox is in om605? hug RE: my benz - Benzbeliever - 02-14-2009 (01-07-2009, 04:27 AM)ForcedInduction The C250 he is talking about would be the OM605, a car we can only dream of getting in the states. Not totally a dream. There's a guy over at FTE forum with a love of American cars. He has had a couple shipped over the pond at reasonable prices. He said it cost him $1200 to ship a 8000lb truck from Baltimore to Germany. If you think about some of the extremes we will go threw swapping and modding what we have here in the states it makes it not seem so crazy to have the car you want shipped in from over seas. We sure got the short end of the stick when it comes to diesel powered passenger vehicles to choose from. |
