Member HulkGreen is offering an adapter kit consisting of a flywheel adapter/spacer and an adapter plate for $340, it is intended to put the engine in Jeep Wranglers and Cherokees, but if you found a 2 wheel drive AX15 I'm sure you could use it in the Mercedes, I'll be dropping one in my Cherokee, but keeping my 300sd too.
