Importing parts via Airlines? - jonbobshinigin - 02-28-2011 I am curious if there is a decent way to make some money transferring parts over the airlines. For instance...let's say some Fins have some items that they need from us, and we want some Myna Pumps. Would there be a way to make a win/win and perhaps make some money? Keep in mind the drops would be planned ahead and I am not limiting this to Finland. RE: Importing parts via Airlines? - 300D50 - 02-28-2011 er, ups = much much cheaper than courier... RE: Importing parts via Airlines? - jonbobshinigin - 02-28-2011 It is my understanding that there are import fees that are through the roof. RE: Importing parts via Airlines? - dust - 03-01-2011 Understanding that you are a pilot, I would guess that if you could fit it in your bags, you should be able to get more through. (Brother is a pilot). I don't know if you could get enough product in at one time though. Brother brought several things back for me from JP. Wonder if 10 "metal boxes" would cause problems if the The Sexual Assault got wind of it RE: Importing parts via Airlines? - E300TSC - 03-02-2011 Anything carried through "official" channels will be subject to fees and tarrifs as stated above. Otherwise, there would be a flood of goods moving in and out of the country. I think the best you can do is to possibly make a few bucks here and there personally "muling" items in and out like people have done forever with Levi's and whatnot. That is if you have someone or yourself who travels abroad on other business and is willing to take care of it. I don't think the money made on such a venture would justify the cost of the travel on it's own. You might be able to list a pump or two with customs as "professional samples" or some such thing. RE: Importing parts via Airlines? - jonbobshinigin - 03-02-2011 I am not a pilot, just wondered if the would be an opportunity to make some bucks by such an effort...but mostly because I was thinking of doing it for some Myna builds. |
