hi guys,
i have a problem, i removed ecm and removed 2 chips for remapping purposes. I had chip holders fitted and refitted original chips. This is so chips can be changed without soldering for remapping.
Now the glow plug light won't come on and it won't engage the starter.
Is this the symptoms of the key being out of sync with ecm????
laser key 1998 w202 c250 turbo diesel.
I was getting ready to remap with hx35 and 7.5mm elements but this is holding me back.

Does the column unlock when you insert the key?

how does my laser key work, does it kill the starter and glow plugs or is it linked to the ecm? Something must have happened my ecm when the chip holders were fitted. If i heat the plugs and turn the starter will it run? If i use my older 1996 non laser key ecm, will it work?

hi,
does anyone know if another ecu can be used on my w202 c250 turbo diesel? I tried another one which seems to be immobilised. With this other ecu it won't put any diesel out of the fuel shut off valve (the black plastic valve on the side of the pump with 3 diesel pipes and 1 electric plug. Can i use the key and key transponder out of this other vehicle with its ecu and wire it in to my car?
Any help appreciated, also you can pm me if you don't want this info on a public forum. Thanks
