Ebay.de goodies - aaa - 03-24-2011 So winmutt's manifold score inspired me to poke around on ebay.de. The result was this: A "5 gang kardanwelle". No it's not supposed to poke out the box like that. Still pretty sweet though. RE: Ebay.de goodies - 300D50 - 03-24-2011 Ohhh, that will be FUN! RE: Ebay.de goodies - Captain America - 03-24-2011 a what? RE: Ebay.de goodies - aaa - 03-25-2011 5 speed driveshaft. Pic: Hmm, uses the small flanges. I was hoping for the larger style flexdisc. Each half is around 32" long. RE: Ebay.de goodies - ForcedInduction - 03-25-2011 Um, you do know that the center support is in the wrong location..... Thats a 280E driveshaft. RE: Ebay.de goodies - aaa - 03-25-2011 That would suck. Gonna bust out the measuring tape at some point. RE: Ebay.de goodies - ForcedInduction - 03-26-2011 In the picture attached, you can see the difference in support positions from the 300D and 280E. (280E 5-speed top, 300D 4-speed bottom.) RE: Ebay.de goodies - aaa - 03-26-2011 Seemed to line up when I held it up underneath the car. Center support in the right place and everything. The splines are bigger than the 190 shaft as well, maybe the same as the 300d splines, at least that's what I'm banking on. Now if only I can figure out these flanges... Turns out it's not the same as the 190 flange, it's ever so slightly bigger. So apparently there's at least three different types of these output flanges/flex disc sizes floating around. On the plus side it seems to match a 617 flex disc. So I think I'll grab the output flange off of the toasted 617 4-speed I have since the 190 output flange doesn't look like it'll go with this. RE: Ebay.de goodies - aaa - 03-27-2011 So apparently the 201 2.2L disk has an 80mm diameter bolt circle, while the driveshaft is 90mm, matching what the 123's use. I'm guessing what 87's have to begin with is 100mm, or maybe 110mm (for some reason couldn't find a flexdisk lying around, thought I had one). (Edit: they're 110mm) Here's some link I found with all the sizes and part numbers: And here's a link to the big 110mm version of the googley-eyed flex discs the 85+ manual trans cars used. http://www.autohausaz.com/search/product.aspx?sid=25cqwtqfnoezu5rgemsjzbaj&partnumber=126%20410%2006%2015 RE: Ebay.de goodies - ForcedInduction - 03-28-2011 Perhaps you should fill out a profile and signature so we know what vehicles we're talking about. RE: Ebay.de goodies - aaa - 03-28-2011 Or maybe I should have said which I was talking about to begin with, since I have both. This is an 87 w124. |
