You are referring to the IP timing device / drive gear, correct?

You can see the separation of the splined section from the geared half in the front view.

And its a very small world, isn't it? Where did you get yours / how is it holding up? All of my adjustment knobs are busted and I can't seem to dial in the switchoff valve to the right kick-on/off settings.

I bought the compressor for $75 from a gentleman about 20 years ago. The regulator knob is missing (always has been) so I just grab the stub of a shaft and turn it with vice grips. It had also been tipped over onto it's aluminum crossover line which smashed it flat. I replaced it with a piece of copper tubing and it's been going strong ever since.
Don't forget to drain the water every so often from the valve under the tank...
Mine kicks on at about 90 and off around 120. I've never fooled with the adjustments.
