W201 OM601 -->> OM606 N/A - EDH_Performance - 05-17-2011

Hi guys,

I have an 93 mod MB 190D, and I have plans for swapping my 2.0D OM601 N/A for a 93 mod OM606 N/A, and mye questions are regarding this:

1. Will the OM601 flywheel fit the OM606 (The 606 has org autotrans)
2. Will the OM601 engine mounts fit the OM606 block? (They look the same)
3. Will the stock 4-speed transmition fit the OM606

Best regards Daniel

The flywheel was my biggest concern...

I'd wonder about whether the clutch can handle the power. It's a small 8" disc.

I see, the only way to test it is to trySmile
Do you know how big the stock 606 clutc is? And is the fly wheel heavier?

The stock is probably a dual mass. 240mm would be my guess. The trend for the single mass seemed to be for flywheels to be lighter on the six-cylinders.

Look for what ]winmutt does with his om603 turbo, which has a little more hp. He's trying an 8.5" right now.

my 606 n/a w124 had a dual mass FW with 9 inch clutch. There are photos in a transmission tread.
