I sold the cabriolet to use the money for school and get back into a diesel.

Bought this from a known member on some of the boards.

1987 300D, 189k miles, anthracite grey, blue leather interior, etc

I need to do the lower ball joints, get the sunroof working, replace the dash, reinstall a bunch of bulbs for everything in the interior, I think the alternator bearing isn't happy or the tensioner is making a weird noise.

But I like it, there is a little bit of oil weeping from a head bolt but its just a minor weep. I have a complete head gasket/ upper end gasket set.

I really like driving it. I had an SDL with the om603 before and the SDL was nice but wasn't as zippy or quick. I hope I can get 35+ mpg with pepper.

After driving my 300sdl I was thinking a 603 w24 would kick ass

Good to hear you're back in it... Nice platform to do it in too.

I liked my SDL because it was big and just awesome. But the W124 is a lot more nimble and has a lot more pep than the SDL.

I'm going to do the ball joints soon, that annoying belt noise I have will be dealt with this week. I have a set of CLK light weight wheels for the car that are also black. But I need rubber. I'm probably going to strip those and polish them or sell them. It does need a bit of low but not too much. I'm not concerned with the ride height. I'm happy with the car as it sits. It drives nicely and gets great fuel economy.

if anything I'd like to modify it to get better fuel economy. If I had a spare car then I'd lower it, intercool it, and boost it.

Scored a crack free blue dash for $20 at the junk yard. Plus 4 door seals with perfect blue cloth. All 4 of mine were bleached.

The dash is a bit sun burnt so I do need to get some SEM shadow blue and touch it up.
