om603 idea. - Ducos - 06-06-2011 Hi. What do you guys think of an om603 turbo. with N/A air intake? and use the airfilterbox as a connector to the pressure pipes? just cut out the "filter" of the filter, and use the orange square as a gasket? Has this been done before? RE: om603 idea. - Kozuka - 06-06-2011 It would work if you could find one.. Here in the USA, I've never seen one. Example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxepyHojLnI RE: om603 idea. - erling66 - 06-06-2011 I am quite sure the airfilter box will not hold much pressure, maybe max 7 psi. I tried on a gasoline engine and it blew up around 10 psi and that box looked strong. RE: om603 idea. - Syncro_G - 06-06-2011 You definitely want to keep the pressure tubes small. The force needed to keep two parts together is proportional to the cross-sectional area at the joint. That means 636lbs of force to hold a 9" pan together at 10psi boost compared to 70lbs force for a 3" tube at the same pressure RE: om603 idea. - Ducos - 06-07-2011 (06-06-2011, 01:44 PM)Kozuka It would work if you could find one.. Here in norway its hard to not trip into one.. hehe. the om603 turbo is much much harder to find ![]() Im using 2.5 pipes and 2.5 - 2.25" reducer into my intercooler, den 2.25 to 2.5 again, since the HX35 is 2.5" out i guess. (correct me if im wrong) And suddenly thought of the N/A airfilterbox, I think its adiquate. Whats the next best thing to do with the original intake on the turbodiesel? RE: om603 idea. - Kozuka - 06-07-2011 Most cut a notch in the driver side and weld on a pipe ![]() Or there is the full custom option... ![]() |
