Floor switch contact position - SicNick - 07-26-2011 Hey guys, would anybody be able to tell me which contact on a 88 260E trans I would power with a pedal to the metal switch? Im thinking about using a toggle to feed power to this circuit when I want the trans to use 1st gear. RE: Floor switch contact position - winmutt - 07-29-2011 A 260e doesnt start in first gear? That doesnt sound normal. I would imagine it would just be the existing kick down switch. Does the kick down switch not work? RE: Floor switch contact position - SicNick - 07-29-2011 Sorry, should have clarified, I'm wondering where the signal from the factory floor switch would be sent. I don't have a Mercedes car around my Mercedes drivetrain... See signature. It may be a lost cause but I thought if I powered this circuit with a toggle it would lock me in first gear, for certain off road situations RE: Floor switch contact position - winmutt - 07-29-2011 Oh a should be a roundish looking solenoid on the back of trans I think. Sweet, I think I've seen that, if I remember correctly it looks like a little black bellows and it points straight rearward with a single black wire exiting it? RE: Floor switch contact position - winmutt - 08-01-2011 That sounds right. Like this: P R N D S L->B I think these are usually found on 300SD's The "B" position is the same shift rod position as "L" but with a switch closed. Wire that into the kick down switch harness. |
