Power increase vs Engine wear Thread - jonbobshinigin - 09-16-2011
I know this has been discussed a bit here and there but I am looking for some conclusive info on how much engine life we may suffer with these cars when adding power.
For my car, a stock 603, I expect no less than 300k but more realistically 500k if I do my part.
Now, let's say I increase the power to 275HP up from 145HP...am I gonna lose a lot of longevity? Sure I would expect to lose a lot at 300-400hp, but I want to find a happy medium.
I'd like to hear from the guys overseas on their experiences with engine life after tuning! Thanks

Your problems are going to appear in the driveline way before the engine.
