changed those motor mounts - Purplecomputer - 02-08-2012 So i finally changed those motor mounts yersterday and wow... Huge difference in how the car rides. Its so smooth! Im no expert but if you havent changed them yet i recommend you do. Heres a pic of the ones i pulled from the car. All of my vibration issues are gone RE: changed those motor mounts - serverman777 - 02-08-2012 I changed out mind. But..... I broke the center bolt on the botton on the driver side like a dumb ass. So I cut the top off the new on and just installed the botton. But I still getting staking when in drive and a low rpm (~1k) when like at a stop light. Could it be trans mounts? RE: changed those motor mounts - sassparilla_kid - 02-08-2012 I changed my driver's side mount a couple months ago, I guess I should try to do the passenger side as well haha, it did make a huge difference though!! RE: changed those motor mounts - Simpler=Better - 02-09-2012 Make sure you keep diesel fuel from the primer pump off the mounts, I have a feeling that's why they fail so quickly RE: changed those motor mounts - vstef_is - 02-09-2012 yup, I second that. Fuel likes to eat rubber, and will wear them out in no time. RE: changed those motor mounts - Purplecomputer - 02-09-2012 I will need to replace the primer pump then since it leaks everytime i use it RE: changed those motor mounts - sassparilla_kid - 02-10-2012 I think some sort of a hood or something over the mounts would be good for keeping fuel off of them, somebody should design one and report back here lol RE: changed those motor mounts - Purplecomputer - 02-10-2012 (02-10-2012, 03:10 AM)sassparilla_kid I think some sort of a hood or something over the mounts would be good for keeping fuel off of them, somebody should design one and report back here lol I have one! Cover them in a zip lock bag! RE: changed those motor mounts - sassparilla_kid - 02-10-2012 I was thinking more along the lines of a pop can cut in half length wise and then shoved down over the thing and zip-tied/wired into place |
