Ireland trip - DeliveryValve - 03-01-2012 I am taking a trip to Ireland with the wife in July. We'll be staying near Galway City. Having no clue as what to do over there, does anybody over the pond have any recommendations for nice outings with wife? Also what is the best Airport to fly into from Los Angeles? Any help would be much appreciated. . RE: Ireland trip - willbhere4u - 03-01-2012 Blarney castle was gorgeous definitely worth seeing we spent a whole day just walking around the castle and the grounds looking at stuff! RE: Ireland trip - sassparilla_kid - 03-02-2012 Gotta kiss that Blarney stone lol RE: Ireland trip - willbhere4u - 03-02-2012 Only if you want the gift of gab RE: Ireland trip - DeliveryValve - 03-03-2012 (03-02-2012, 03:17 AM)sassparilla_kid Gotta kiss that Blarney stone lol I've been told already I have to kiss the Blarney stone. Wife is not going to do it. LOL. Any other interesting stuff to see? . RE: Ireland trip - willbhere4u - 03-03-2012 We went out to inch beach near dingle! you can drive your rental car out on almost every beach! This one is a peninsula beach it got to be about ten miles long we drove out to pick up my mom and step father who walked out to the end and this is my girl friend Amelia The bottom 3 pictures are from around Blarney Castle note the castle is a lot bigger than this picture actually shows there are caves under the castle that are fun to check out as well and acres of gardens to walk around with ancient ruins hidden in the woods we went early in the morning to avoid the crowds and it was a great time! we where there probaly a half of a day and I bet we didn't see half of it! I will probably go there again just to keep exploring next time I'm over there! RE: Ireland trip - DeliveryValve - 03-06-2012 Thanks for the recommendation. Cool shots. I'm all in with visiting various castles! . RE: Ireland trip - JB3 - 03-06-2012 should be a great trip! All I know about Ireland is what I saw in "Patriot Games", and lately in "Sons of Anarchy". Both of which do not paint a very normal picture, unless everyone is murdering everyone and riding motorcycles. Take some pics of the people so we can verify Went to Scotland once, im big into the historical tour stuff, I spent the entire trip looking at castles and battle grounds non stop. Post some pics when you get back! Take some pics of the people so we can verify Hahahaa makes me think of Mad Max for some reason lol RE: Ireland trip - JB3 - 04-26-2012 one of my subletters just got back from a week long Rugby team tour in Dublin. He looked to have been aged about 15 years, I guess the Irish take the whole drinkup tradition after a game of rugby very seriously. He was up until 6 or 8 in the morning every night drinking with the teams, every team clubhouse had a complete bar and lounge attached. I largely gave up drinking a couple years ago, but if thats your thing, he said that the hotels he stayed in all had secret 24hour speak easy type rooms when the bar closed, where you could go in at closing time, and still drink as long as you could. Basically the room has a phone with a connection to the front desk, and the guy watching the desk will keep bringing you beer. Sounds pretty neat, you will have to verify this. He also might have gotten special treatment since he was in a group of about 50 US rugby team players, all big athletic guys with a serious appetite for beer, and usually traveling in company with the Irish teams, so imagine 100+ rugby players decending on bars and clubs all screaming team songs. RE: Ireland trip - DeliveryValve - 04-26-2012 Sounds pretty cool. I am into drinking when the occasion is right. But my older body is not like me at 19-20 years old. That's when I was a fish. I'll have to look into it if I get a chance. . |
