Help Please - Booster - 03-05-2012
Hey guys,
Sorry its not diesel but need help asap.
Went to change the plugs on my c200 w202, somehow managed to get the wrong size plug socket stuck in the plug hole.
slipped in just fine but wont for the life of me come out.
Need to get this sorted asap but not sure the best way?
Any help would be amazing.

Get some kind of hook and pull that thing out. Or, pull that motor and drop in an OM.

The problem is its stuck on the top of the spark plug so cant get anything into get it back out.
I would drop that engine but its only surposed to be a quick service and then sell it on.
Got a c250 with a om605.
I will take some pictures in the morning, I'm too fed up with trying!!
Might try and drill and tap the socket but not sure if it will work.

I've drilled and tapped a socket before. Long story short, I needed to put a set screw in the side to hold a bit in. I have been using that socket for many years now.
When I tried to drill into the socket the drill would not start to cut until I hit the spot I was trying to drill on a grinder. Meaning I had to break through the hardened surface before I could drill and tape the socket. Didn't need to remove much material before the drill would start cutting but, I had to remove some.

That sounds pretty good, screw a tap into that socket and yank up on it. I just wonder how it can be so stuck in a 'plug hole'. I mean I assume you didn't have to fight it in there so you shouldn't have to fight it out. Maybe some forceps or something.

I think its more I have no way of gripping it to pull it out again, I'm sure it will come out on the first slide of a slide hammer...
Just frustrating, I would not have slid it in there if it felt stiff or the wrong size....

well, then would a magnet work? I was going to suggest that before but I was assuming there was some sort of tightness to the problem.

No a magnet is not strong enough, It looks like I have forced it in form your point of view but i really didnt.....

If you have access to a welder, put an extension in th eplug socket, tacl it on 2 sides & rock it back & forth while pulling....
