ATS Diesels On The Mountain - ForcedInduction - 05-12-2009 http://www.atsdiesel.com/ats2/dom.asp?sb=17 I've contacted ATS to see if it would be possible to enter my 300D for some 1/4 fun-run drags on August 1-2. By then I should have most everything done except a Myna pump, water injection and internal transmission modifications. RE: Trying to enter ATS Diesels On The Mountain - winmutt - 05-13-2009 Just turn your delivery valve holders and torque up. it's like Myna Jr. Heh. RE: Trying to enter ATS Diesels On The Mountain - ForcedInduction - 05-13-2009 Woo hoo! Plus I won't have to miss a day of work. Quote:Lance- Since the current pump needs replacing, I'm planning on swapping in the "stock" M-Pump and turning it up. If I can find a 98-99 E300's pump for cheap I might have an injection shop swap in the elements and calibrate it. RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - ForcedInduction - 06-17-2009 Well, at this rate the Holset won't be ready for the race and the M-pump won't have the 6mm elements. I don't want to put the GT22V on the 300 since its working so damn well on the 240 I don't want to disturb it. I'll probably just max out the m-pump, turn up the T3's boost and increase the modulator pressure. Although I'm not sure if I even want to bother without the Holset. RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - winmutt - 06-19-2009 Put the mw pump on with the rack limiter off. torque up and the delivery valves turned. RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - ForcedInduction - 06-19-2009 (06-19-2009, 01:15 PM)winmutt Put the mw pump on with the rack limiter off. The MW is whats causing # 5 to nail. (EDIT: That turned out to be wrong). RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - Motorhead - 07-04-2009 (06-19-2009, 03:09 PM)ForcedInductionWhat causes the "Nail" to happen, lack of combustion, lack of fuel or fuel timing?(06-19-2009, 01:15 PM)winmutt Put the mw pump on with the rack limiter off. RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - ForcedInduction - 07-04-2009 (07-04-2009, 01:00 PM)Motorhead What causes the "Nail" to happen, lack of combustion, lack of fuel or fuel timing? That turned out to be wrong, it still nails after changing the injection pump. An Italian Tuneup reduced the noise so it may just be carbon buildup. RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - willbhere4u - 07-05-2009 Are you going out to bandimere? in Co I might show up there for the hell of it. I don't think my 240 will be set up by then though! RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - ForcedInduction - 07-05-2009 I have to work the 1st but I will be there for sure on the 2nd, running or not. RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - ForcedInduction - 07-14-2009 I've made up my mind. I'll be running and if I can't get the Holset working by next week I'll swap on the GT22 from the 240. RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - willbhere4u - 07-16-2009 I started installing the Rajay turbo on my 240 today and if I can get it running in time I'll bring it up and run it! What needs to be done for tech inspection I think I need a water reservoir bottle any thing else I should worry about? RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - ForcedInduction - 07-16-2009 (07-16-2009, 05:11 PM)willbhere4u hay F.I. do you know what has to be done to the car to get it through tech??? for the drag race? I think it needs an overflow boodle for the rad? thanks Will I've never been part of the races, but what I've read so far for a street car to pass is an overflow bottle (I'm not sure if I need one since it uses an expansion tank), a battery tie down, a working neutral safety switch, seatbelts and good tires. RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - willbhere4u - 07-16-2009 neutral safety being an automatic? my car is stick and will start with the clutch out? I think it was built like that though! I will have to fix my battery tie down!!! see if you can find out if we have to preregister or if we can do it when we get on the 2nd and what is the fee o get in? thanks will RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - ForcedInduction - 07-16-2009 (07-16-2009, 06:46 PM)willbhere4u neutral safety being an automatic? my car is stick and will start with the clutch out? I think it was built like that though! My 240D is the same way so I think it would be acceptable since its factory. Quote:I will have to fix my battery tie down!!!Good luck finding one! I have only come across one set in the junkyard. If you do need one, I have 1 spare. Worst case, I have some cargo straps. Quote:see if you can find out if we have to preregister or if we can do it when we get on the 2nd and what is the fee o get in? http://www.bandimere.com/events/event_detail.php?eventID=358 $30 per racer plus $10 per "crew member". I just asked the boss for the 1st off so I'll be a spectator for the first day. I'll find out the specifics of what we need to do/where we need to be. Tom Judd said he is interested in the event so he might show up and write an article about us. RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - ForcedInduction - 08-02-2009 Lots of fun! The other racer was in a 99-02 Ford F250 with the 7.3L PSD, I actually had him up to the 1/8th mile! For the second run I removed the exhaust from the downpipe back, my times went UP! The only faster number was 0.41mph faster top speed. Here is the video of my second run. Will (willbhere4u) is in the 240D ahead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyBZi4yagLA RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - ForcedInduction - 11-24-2009 (08-02-2009, 06:35 PM)ForcedInduction Will (willbhere4u) is in the 240D ahead.24.316@56.57mph Will, you've got competition! http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/AllCars/245199/ RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - ForcedInduction - 02-01-2010 The 300D is finally track-legal. Last August I had to use an old washer bottle as a catchcan because the track requires a 16+oz coolant container, even if the system is an expansion tank type. The bracket is from an early-80's Mazda RX-7 and the tank is from a 90's Mitsubishi Montero. Its bolted to one of the old battery tray mount holes. Note: Don't worry, green is only for the intercooler circuit. The engine uses the correct yellow. RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - ForcedInduction - 08-03-2010 Diesels On The Mountain is next Sunday (8/08) at Bandimere raceway! RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - garage - 08-04-2010 (08-03-2010, 06:12 AM)ForcedInduction Diesels On The Mountain is next Sunday (8/08) at Bandimere raceway! What time did you run last year forced? 18sec? You gonna beat it this year? RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - ForcedInduction - 08-04-2010 Without a doubt. The IP has been turned up again since then and the W/M injection adds 13whp on top of that. Its just up to 1st and 2nd holding the torque of 17psi of boost off the line. RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - garage - 08-04-2010 Ahhh man! Pleasee take video!! RE: ATS Diesels On The Mountain - ForcedInduction - 08-08-2010 I ran 17.445@76.8 this year, vs 18.847@71.20 last year. My first run was against a Ram 1500 Hemi and I actually had him all the way up to the last few feet. Second run was against a 14second Dodge.... Video: My reaction times and launches were not as good as I'd like, every time the second stage water/methanol would kick in I lost traction on the line. I really need LSD. The video quality is poor because I had to use my backup camera due to dead batteries in my primary. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njk1YhMcL_w Unfortunately, they said this is the last year they will let me get away with entering. Maybe next year I'll bend the rules a little by removing the trunk lid and calling it a Benzomino. |
