7mm elements, what's your take? - toyfreak - 08-31-2012 I have just been informed about this website that sells 7mm elements for 40 euro each. Think they are any good or just the cheap chinese elements? http://www.dieselkontor.de/product_info.php?products_id=3271 RE: 7mm elements, what's your take? - dieselmeken - 09-01-2012 (08-31-2012, 06:02 PM)toyfreak I have just been informed about this website that sells 7mm elements for 40 euro each. Think they are any good or just the cheap chinese elements? They work, but its the old Ford Transit element with flat head, no retard notch at low idle, max 120cc of fuel. RE: 7mm elements, what's your take? - Mark_M - 09-01-2012 I had seen these a while ago as well and wondered if they would do a job. They are cheap that's for sure. Thanks for letting us know what they are dieselmeken. RE: 7mm elements, what's your take? - awk - 09-01-2012 they fit only m pumps? or mw also? RE: 7mm elements, what's your take? - Deni - 09-01-2012 Interesting. Which Ford Transit used them? Would they be any better than 6mm elements? What is their disadvantage over the stock elements? Like rough idle etc? Thanks Deni RE: 7mm elements, what's your take? - Volker407 - 09-01-2012 I can recommend Tomniks elements (Tomnik is a member here). They are a little more expensive than others, but the quality is the best I have seen so far AND they are designed for the stuff we do here. That helps to avoid issues like rough idle, having to do troubleshooting and so on. Like dieselmeken said, the original Bosch elements e.g. miss a retard notch for the stuff we do. What is their disadvantage over the stock elements? Like rough idle etc? Not for MW, only M-serie. Ford Transit, the old York 2,4 diesel between 74-78 i think it was. These old element is not to be recommended if you shall have your car for daily drive, for race / drifting they are OK but you can get hard nailing on low idle |
