Question about fuel pump. - pmj4147 - 01-07-2013

My engine currently using PES pump.

i'm planning about

Delete the stock fuelpump attached on injection pump

and

replace it to gas engine fuel motor(3~4kgf/cm2) or CRDI sub pump(7~8kgf/cm2)

Question.

is it worth???

if is it worth....which is the better option?

There is really NO benefit in replacing a good working lift-pump with any electrical version.

The Finns use std pumps on their super-turbo machines, so they must be OK even for the extremes they do!

IF your pump is faulty--be cheaper to re-build it than replace with non-standard--and probably troublesome electrical device!

When you choose an electrical pump you definitely need to make sure it flows enough, people have tried gasser fuel pumps in the past and had flow issues. Not sure what the exact numbers are though, and I don't think it'll help much if you're leaving the rest of the pump stock.
