EGT's on stock fueled OM617? - Captain America - 01-17-2013 Anyone have numbers? I'm only hitting 750° on a LONG pull. RE: EGT's on stock fueled OM617? - Simpler=Better - 01-17-2013 That's really low. With stock fueling (no ALDA), straight pipe and a VNT I could hit 1100*F on steep hills with the trailer. Idle was around 280*F, cruising was around 500ish IIRC. RE: EGT's on stock fueled OM617? - MFSuper90 - 01-17-2013 Mine isn't stock fueling, so take it for what its worth to you. But If I am on a long long hill I can hit 1000, POST turbo. I dont ever push it farther than that, cause thats gettin pretty toasty. RE: EGT's on stock fueled OM617? - w123love - 01-17-2013 Where are you collecting your #’s from captain? RE: EGT's on stock fueled OM617? - sassparilla_kid - 01-17-2013 Usually I can get it up to about 800*F on the freeway, I think the max I've seen it get was about 1000*F on a long uphill pull with the pedal floored. This ia with alda maxxed and boost turned up a bit, and straight pipe of course. Other than that its stock pump and non-egr manifolds. I haven't been using the water injection so no idea how that will affect things. My thermocouple thing is in the bottom of the flat spot pre-turbo, and I'm using a Sunpro gauge I got from Pep Boys Hope that helps RE: EGT's on stock fueled OM617? - Captain America - 01-17-2013 (01-17-2013, 01:39 PM)w123love Where are you collecting your #’s from captain? Same spot as sassparilla kid. I idle about 250 and cruise around 450. Seems low to me too, that's why I ask. I'm using the VDO gauge I got from Rudolph and his thermo couple that he extended. T.his pump has no ADLA and no rack limiter. Other than that its stock RE: EGT's on stock fueled OM617? - sassparilla_kid - 01-17-2013 I thought there were supposed to be crazy egt's with no rack limiter? RE: EGT's on stock fueled OM617? - ronnie - 01-17-2013 Just removing the rack limiter does not mean the rack will go to full travel. The governor is still holding it back some.Torque control adjustments will cause the rack to go further and then egt's can go too high. RE: EGT's on stock fueled OM617? - Simpler=Better - 01-17-2013 No, that's cut DV's or when you turn the screws up inside too much. No rack, but no other changes just gives you a little boost of fuel(2psi?) RE: EGT's on stock fueled OM617? - Captain America - 01-21-2013 850 - 900 is all im getting out of it. Guess I have a lot of room for fuel haha RE: EGT's on stock fueled OM617? - led-panzer - 01-21-2013 I'm in the exact same boat. Never get over 950. |
