Beers, Matt RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - w123love - 01-28-2013 I scanned the page and saw zero turbo manifolds. RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - HoleshotHolset - 01-28-2013 (01-28-2013, 10:51 AM)w123love I scanned the page and saw zero turbo manifolds. Bingo. Although one could argue that the construction methods aren't THAT different. They do good work based on quick visual inspection of some pictures, but it doesn't look like they have much experience with our specific applications... Beers, Matt Equal length isn't as important with turbo as it is NA...or so "they" say. RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - Simpler=Better - 01-28-2013 If they can bend heavier gauge tubing, with everything equal length, and weld a flange on the end I'd say they can make a turbo manifold RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - Fast Road - 01-28-2013 Hi. Thanks for your comments. Really appreciated and have been taken on board. There is no real difference in making a Turbo Manifold to a Normal Tubular Manifold and we have made many, although we have no pics at present to justify this. The only difference is that we fabricate them from Mild Steel rather than Stainless Steel due to costs. We can fabricate from Stainless Steel but at a premium price. I do however have our IT man here at the moment and we will take a couple of pics of an MR2 Turbo manifold and a Mitsubishi Turbo manifold and upload them to the website. We Have recently done some development work for Axel 606 who is a member on here if that helps. Regards Andy RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - lpumb3 - 01-28-2013 i read an article on these guy in PVW , apparently they cook up some NASTY! custom setups. im in the US so ill never see first hand . nor STD apps so......%) RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - Fast Road - 01-28-2013 Lpumb3, I take it when you say nasty you mean terrible ?? Andy Ok, Apologies once again. We have now uploaded the pics of the Turbo Manifolds that we have fabricated. If we can find any more we will naturally upload them. Thank you for pointing out this error. The pics can be found on our website under the Manifold section. Andy RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - HoleshotHolset - 01-28-2013 Pics... The welds at the flange look a little iffy (inconsistent), IMHO... Beers, Matt RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - Fast Road - 01-28-2013 That's the buggers lol, Good job someone knows how to upload them to here. Thank you. Andy RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - lgreeley83 - 01-28-2013 "Each individual tube that goes into making our custom tubular manifolds is hand-manipulated in one piece of tube wherever possible. We avoid using bits of pipe just bent, cut off and welded together at different angles - this risks premature failure at any of these welds and perhaps more importantly, bits of weld and even the welding rod itself sticking out inside can interrupt the flow." Not to scrutize but that picture looks pretty inconsistent with the quote on the site RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - axel606 - 01-28-2013 (01-28-2013, 12:36 PM)lgreeley83 "Each individual tube that goes into making our custom tubular manifolds is hand-manipulated in one piece of tube wherever possible. RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - mantahead - 01-28-2013 hi Andy, so, how much for a om606 manifold like this ![]() http://www.superturbodiesel.com/std/attachment.php?aid=6087 or like this: http://i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc461/mantahead1/VW5uYW1lZC5qcGc-3.jpg in mild steel if you wish http://www.superturbodiesel.com/std/attachment.php?aid=5890 RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - THE DIGGER - 01-28-2013 (01-28-2013, 04:45 PM)axel606 .. as the first g 460 '606a' has generated quite a mini demand for more conversions and the special adapters are a vital part of the job. Would love to hear more on this..... RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - Booster - 01-29-2013 I would be more than happy with mild rather than stainless if the pricing was right! Rough guide price would be great.... RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - Turbo - 01-29-2013 yes rough prices would be nice to know (01-29-2013, 05:37 AM)Booster I would be more than happy with mild rather than stainless if the pricing was right! RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - lpumb3 - 01-29-2013 (01-28-2013, 11:13 AM)Fast Road Lpumb3, I take it when you say nThe opposite , i Your work ooked very clean and properly fit . RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - Fast Road - 01-30-2013 Lpumb3, Thank you on your comment and our work. Its nice to see people appreciate real craftsmanship. We can fabricate a one off Manifold as pictured by Mantahead for the OM606 for £1200 + VAT, However, if there is enough interest ( Ie a Group buy ) we are prepared to negotiate pricing. We must stipulate that if this becomes the case then the price will be for one design of manifold and no variations will be possible as a jig will have to be made to do the work. If anyone is interested please leave your names below. Regards Andy RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - mantahead - 01-30-2013 don't think you will sell any manifolds on here at that price, your twice the price that they can be bought for, and the other ones are proven to work, like kkd. for about £670 RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - Booster - 01-30-2013 As said by mantahead, some seriously nice manifolds can be had from kkd for half the price...... I would want one for a om605 and I doubt there would be enough people to get the price down below that of kkd. Thanks for getting back with a price though..... RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - lpumb3 - 01-30-2013 no prob andy , i was just mentioning the article in PVW , best wishes what would be nice is if you could solve a problem for 617 owners . somehow insulate the dual manifold shared stud design . some type of two layer flange with a heat isolating gasket between in/eh possibly the exhaust manifold mating flange full length.with basically a beveled female mating ports for the intake. give the intake a bit of protrusion from its flange. so it can seat its ports and still provide 1/4" for the heat iso gasket, slap some insulating gasket between and whatever upgraded hard ware and machine tolerance improvements . i dont think if ever seen anything done with out choping up the mercedes stuff . i dont think a SS flange is even available to create your own . RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - Simpler=Better - 01-30-2013 Yeah, there is nothing readily available for the 617. A flange with stubs welded to it would be great RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - raysorenson - 01-30-2013 JTY's manifold was make by KKD, I'm sure they would whip you up a new one quickly enough. RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - lpumb3 - 02-03-2013 (01-30-2013, 03:24 PM)Simpler=Better Yeah, there is nothing readily available for the 617. A flange with stubs welded to it would be greatid love to see what a shop the ability to CAD cut some nice ss flanges can do , with slick hardware w or wo Ewg . a simple long runner log intake . at or under , preferably, under a 1000$US for the set ? at least already built om617s coul use them for big turbos ![]() RE: Stainless & Custom Exhaust and Manifold Fabricators - kmaser - 03-17-2013 (01-30-2013, 03:59 PM)raysorenson JTY's manifold was make by KKD, I'm sure they would whip you up a new one quickly enough. I tried to get one but the Jig is M.I.A.
