I am going to put a OM606 into a W124 wagon. I am looking for a car to use. What W124 had the strongest automatic transmition??

The strongest w124 transmission would be the 500e v8 but it's going to be a different bolt pattern than an inline 6 cylinder
I would suspect the 86-87 300d om603 turbo trans to be the strongest inline transmission available and the om603 shares it cylinder block with the om606

300d is a sedan 1986-1987 3.0 om603 1988-newer are 2.5 om602?
300td is a wagon T is for estate in German not turbo
here in the US all the 300d are turbocharged
There are also w126 300SDL & 350SDL turbo diesel om603 here I 'm not sure if that will fit a w124 but may be an option

In the brochures they refer to them as Touring Sedans, maybe that's what the T stands for?
Most German manufacturers tend to refer to a station wagon as a caravan.
