OM651 tuners - AlanMcR - 04-16-2013 The specs for the OM651 (2.2L compound turbo I4) are fantastic for my purposes. Unfortunately the engine computer comes with many inter-dependencies on the rest of the vehicle computers. Is there a tuner out there who can simplify / disable these dependencies? I don't need more power, less would actually be OK (sacrilege, I know). I want the torque, fuel economy, light weight and compact size. RE: OM651 tuners - AlanMcR - 04-18-2013 Thanks for the links. The after market ECU is appealing, but I don't think that they work with the piezo injectors yet. RE: OM651 tuners - Mark_M - 04-18-2013 the Bosch and the Skynam definitely do and I think the Adaptronic can as well. Its really your only option to be honest. Been here before as well when I was looking to run a modern diesel engine. I looked at the TDV6 and TDV8 and found the engines were pretty cheap and then I found out why, the EMS costs a fortune! |
