W107 steering column - oel_brenner - 04-23-2013

does anyone know if the steering column is a single piece from here:

steering wheel connection:

to the coupler at the steering box:

I still have a bit of play in the system and have replaced EVERYTHING downstream of the coupler.

Have you adjusted the searing box?

I know the stearing box adjust reverse of the way most cars do. I.E. you have to turn the adjusting screw out or CCW I believe. then lock down the lock nut. At least that's how it was on my W123

I turned it out till in stopped then back in a 1/4 turn. and locked it down. worked like a charm

I have not adjusted the box, only has about 50K miles on it from brand new, but looks like I will have to do that next. I understand the adjustment procedure is pretty tricky, and less is more with respect to adjustment and future box wear.
