om606 engine weight - dirtydiesel - 04-27-2013

I searched and couldn't find a definative weight, so when i pulled mine this wekend i weighed it.

It is a 606.692, fully dressed with every ancilliary full of oil, weighed 245kg

208kg for LS1 all accessories with flex plate. Probably dry.

good to know the weight. The 606 is a heavy beast and so are mb chassis.Smile

At 245kg fully dressed it think it's actually quite light, there is probably 10kg of excess pipes and cabling because of the very rough way i cut everything to take it out.

I am going to be building a tube buggy for offroad competition events

I might start a thread as i plan on changing the accessory pack on the engine, remoting the oil and fuel filters, fitting a bosch ve pump and playing around with compound turbos

I don't think it's heavy either. I posted the LSx weight comparison because those things are considered very light for the torque they deliver.
