Is it possible to make this engine work in a w201 with the original pump? & would it be any cheaper & easier than swapping the pump or not?

I'm assuming the W201 was a 190D 2.5, therefore the pump from the original 602 will fit and work with the 605 engine.
Assuming the 605 has the original Mechanical pump--then yes, no problem.
Assuming the 605 has an Electronic pump--then no, there's nothing to connect it to in a W201 car.
--There's guys playing round with stand-alone controllers for the 605/6 engine elect pumps, but easiest option is to find a 602 turbo mechanical pump--assuming the engine was a turbo 605....
LOT of assumptions--you didnt give us much info to work with!

The 605 Engine most comes out of the W202 and there is an electronic pump on it.
I´m considering a change to the 605 or 602 DE29LA engine. The problem of both engines is the electrician pump. The 605 is a pre-chamber and make the pump compilation easier, the 602 is a direct injection engine with a very well efficiency an make it interesting for my project. Both engines are perfect 5-cylinder. The 602 has more stroke
I do not know what element size i install in the 602 mechanical series injection pump for install on 605 and desired performance from 200hp and 300lbf.

I do have an om602 turbo pump from a US w124 300d 2.5, just that if I take the 6mm elements out of the 605's pump to put into this pump it makes selling the 605 pump a bit difficult.

Don't know what the market is like where you are but here the sale price of the 605 pump is less than buying new elements. There are a few standalone controllers for the electronic pump being worked on but as yet I haven't found any that have made it very far. In theory it shouldn't be that difficult but in practice it appears to be.

Alternative you can buy an OM602 without turbo pump and exchange the elements and the ALDA from a turbo pump.

No one will buy an electronic 605/6 pump anyway so take them out if you have anyone that can install them in your 602 pump
