Bow chick a wow wow RE: I'm getting hitched - raysorenson - 06-15-2013 That's so cool. Hope it went well. RE: I'm getting hitched - JB3 - 06-19-2013 4 days ago? how was it? are you still recovering from the party? RE: I'm getting hitched - Simpler=Better - 06-19-2013 It was awesome, everything went perfectly. We're spending the week chilling out in Balamer and not worrying about shit for a week. Also we have ~20lbs of leftover ribs/ pulled beef BBQ, and 2 cakes RE: I'm getting hitched - willbhere4u - 06-20-2013 congrats RE: I'm getting hitched - sassparilla_kid - 06-21-2013 CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not being a native speaker . Congrats from over here. . RE: I'm getting hitched - JB3 - 06-21-2013 awesome! another congratulations! im following you down that road come november RE: I'm getting hitched - MFSuper90 - 06-23-2013 Druk, I am native and I still had no clue where that was! So don't feel bad RE: I'm getting hitched - Simpler=Better - 06-24-2013 dopnosky-congrats! Keep one thing in mind when you're planning-keep it damn simple and don't make exceptions for other people. If someone wants something extra/ different they can handle it themselves. If you're ever down here, it's pronounced "balduhmor" or "balamer" If you enunciate they will know you're from out of town. RE: I'm getting hitched - JB3 - 07-09-2013 So wheres a pic of you and the lovely bride? Still working on the ribs and cake? RE: I'm getting hitched - lgreeley83 - 07-09-2013 Did she stop cooking, get fat, and did the sex stop yet? Juuuuusstt kidding Any good fights yet? The biggest is always in the 1st year they say. My wife almost divorced me for leaving the house without my wedding band on. I have two bands, I where one jogging and when working on cars. I went out with her mom wearing "the wrong ring" RE: I'm getting hitched - Simpler=Better - 07-10-2013 Haha she's still cookin', good lookin', and I sleep well at night Oh we've already had some good fights, like when I took off during hurricane sandy for a business trip, that one went over well :p Or the classic: out at a buddy's shop till 2am and forgetting the cell phone I made the bands from Ti90Al6V4 ("aircraft titanium") so no problems forgetting them... RE: I'm getting hitched - JB3 - 08-21-2013 (07-10-2013, 09:05 AM)Simpler=Better I made the bands from Ti90Al6V4 ("aircraft titanium") so no problems forgetting them... you made them yourself? pretty awesome, post a pic of this! Right now going through the process of getting some wedding bands. Actually both the fiance and I are interested in some stainless steel bands or even a spinner wedding band, as its just like a bearing, and I love the concept. Can't believe how reasonable non gold wedding bands are RE: I'm getting hitched - Simpler=Better - 08-21-2013 (08-21-2013, 02:50 PM)JB3(07-10-2013, 09:05 AM)Simpler=Better I made the bands from Ti90Al6V4 ("aircraft titanium") so no problems forgetting them... Yeah, I think the bar was around $130 shipping (minimum 12" order). Mine *was* mirror polished but I bang it on stuff all the time. Her ring has a brushed 600# finish because she bangs it on stuff and doesn't want the scratches to show up. Find a school or lax shop down there and make your own, but take my advice and get Ti99 it will be much easier to work with and still stronger than gold. If you're going for bearings that's trickier, SS and Ti like to gall Here's a pic in the shop & at the wedding: RE: I'm getting hitched - MFSuper90 - 08-21-2013 Badass man RE: I'm getting hitched - winmutt - 08-27-2013 Thats cool. Sorry for day late on this. Congrats. RE: I'm getting hitched - JB3 - 08-27-2013 The rings look great! I don't have the machine skills or machine to do it myself, that's awesome that you did that RE: I'm getting hitched - JB3 - 10-02-2013 Turns out im glad we went with stainless steel wedding rings. I already lost mine, and she already lost hers. At 9 dollars a ring from amazon, fortunately we were able to buy some more, including some spares. Had I tried to make one, or had a gold one, id be pretty angry. Bonus is SS rings are dishwasher safe and impervious to corrosion RE: I'm getting hitched - winmutt - 10-02-2013 Sounds like you both have alot of 'splainin' to do. I'm glad she's a practical gal, but that was pretty obvious after she rode 50 hours in the krieger-mobile under her own will. RE: I'm getting hitched - JB3 - 10-02-2013 (10-02-2013, 01:07 PM)winmutt Sounds like you both have alot of 'splainin' to do. lol, had em on the shelf, hitch date is a month away. Im actually seriously considering the cat as the culprit in this case. If i find them later, more spares! I need to check the places where the cat hides other household crap (10-02-2013, 01:10 PM)Simpler=Better(10-02-2013, 12:02 PM)JB3 Turns out im glad we went with stainless steel wedding rings. I lucked out RE: I'm getting hitched - DeliveryValve - 10-02-2013 I'm a so glad that I have a titanium wedding band. My wife and I got matching Stirling Sliver 10 year anniversary rings for the other hand and I almost cut off my finger (little exaggeration) from it being deformed from just the daily abuse I give it. I have now only wear that ring once in a while. The titanium ring has not deform ever and at the same time, my wife's platinum wedding band is also kind beat up. I bought it online over 10 years ago which was unheard of then. Even back then, titanium rings were not as popular, but today they are so popular you can order a simple band for $45 online. Not sure how Stainless steel holds up, but I say if you need to get that replacement and plan to not loose it, titanium is the way to go! . RE: I'm getting hitched - JB3 - 10-04-2013 the titanium ones sound awesome, I didn't want to go with a material that tough for possible emergency reasons My concern was an emergency medical kit ring cutter may not be able to cut a titanium ring in a situation where the ring has to come off the finger and can't slide off (like if I broke or smashed it completely) RE: I'm getting hitched - winmutt - 10-04-2013 Mine is tungsten carbide, you can crack it with a vicegrip. RE: I'm getting hitched - martureo - 10-07-2013 (10-04-2013, 04:03 PM)JB3 the titanium ones sound awesome, I didn't want to go with a material that tough for possible emergency reasonsx2 I went with a $7.99 Overstock.com SS ring. It's scratched, has surface dents all over it. But the most important thing, that it's remained on my finger, hasn't failed me yet. RE: I'm getting hitched - SurfRodder - 11-24-2013 I use a small uick release carabiner for a keyring (works really well for the nice large hole M-B keys)...anyway, I always throw my ring on that thing when working with machinery of any sort and usually working on my cars as well...helps keep my disposable gloves last a little longer as well...even the 14mil latex ones can tear pretty easy with a ring inside... |
