It was awesome, everything went perfectly. We're spending the week chilling out in Balamer and not worrying about shit for a week. Also we have ~20lbs of leftover ribs/ pulled beef BBQ, and 2 cakes

dopnosky-congrats! Keep one thing in mind when you're planning-keep it damn simple and don't make exceptions for other people. If someone wants something extra/ different they can handle it themselves.
If you're ever down here, it's pronounced "balduhmor" or "balamer" If you enunciate they will know you're from out of town.

Oh we've already had some good fights, like when I took off during hurricane sandy for a business trip, that one went over well :p Or the classic: out at a buddy's shop till 2am and forgetting the cell phone
I made the bands from Ti90Al6V4 ("aircraft titanium") so no problems forgetting them...

you made them yourself? pretty awesome, post a pic of this! Right now going through the process of getting some wedding bands. Actually both the fiance and I are interested in some stainless steel bands or even a spinner wedding band, as its just like a bearing, and I love the concept.

Yeah, I think the bar was around $130 shipping (minimum 12" order). Mine *was* mirror polished but I bang it on stuff all the time. Her ring has a brushed 600# finish because she bangs it on stuff and doesn't want the scratches to show up.
Find a school or lax shop down there and make your own, but take my advice and get Ti99 it will be much easier to work with and still stronger than gold. If you're going for bearings that's trickier, SS and Ti like to gall

Turns out im glad we went with stainless steel wedding rings. I already lost mine, and she already lost hers. At 9 dollars a ring from amazon, fortunately we were able to buy some more, including some spares.
Had I tried to make one, or had a gold one, id be pretty angry. Bonus is SS rings are dishwasher safe and impervious to corrosion

lol, had em on the shelf, hitch date is a month away. Im actually seriously considering the cat as the culprit in this case. If i find them later, more spares! I need to check the places where the cat hides other household crap

I'm a so glad that I have a titanium wedding band. My wife and I got matching Stirling Sliver 10 year anniversary rings for the other hand and I almost cut off my finger (little exaggeration) from it being deformed from just the daily abuse I give it. I have now only wear that ring once in a while. The titanium ring has not deform ever and at the same time, my wife's platinum wedding band is also kind beat up.
I bought it online over 10 years ago which was unheard of then. Even back then, titanium rings were not as popular, but today they are so popular you can order a simple band for $45 online.
Not sure how Stainless steel holds up, but I say if you need to get that replacement and plan to not loose it, titanium is the way to go!

My concern was an emergency medical kit ring cutter may not be able to cut a titanium ring in a situation where the ring has to come off the finger and can't slide off (like if I broke or smashed it completely)

I went with a $7.99 Overstock.com SS ring. It's scratched, has surface dents all over it. But the most important thing, that it's remained on my finger, hasn't failed me yet.

I use a small uick release carabiner for a keyring (works really well for the nice large hole M-B keys)...anyway, I always throw my ring on that thing when working with machinery of any sort and usually working on my cars as well...helps keep my disposable gloves last a little longer as well...even the 14mil latex ones can tear pretty easy with a ring inside...
