OM601.970 - TLLM - 06-18-2013 Hi. I have this old 1988 190d with the om601.913 engine. Its a pretty weak engine, but yet rock solid. Then i came across information about the Vito 2.3 TD. It has engine code OM601.970. And then i thought, is it possible to put this engine in my 190d? Would it be a direct fit to the tranny? And what style pump does the 0m601.970 have? Please help. Best Regards The Dane RE: OM601.970 - aaa - 06-18-2013 I recall the intake manifold not being very low profile on the .970, presumably because the van has more vertical engine bay space. It will fit the tranny fine. RE: OM601.970 - TLLM - 06-18-2013 Thank you for the reply. So this engine is a straight fit, besides the intake manifold? I'll just build my owm manifold. Problem solved. But what about tunability of the .970 ? |
