om606 turbo converting - stripy - 06-20-2013 hello. i got a om606 na engine in a w124, and im trying to put a turbo in it. the turbo is from a w210. (om606.962) kkk turbo. i dont undestand the vacum hose system. the wastegate on the turbo wants vacum and i dont know where to get the vacum from. can i take it from the exaust return? annyone know where i can get this? or has anny idea how to get this working? RE: om606 turbo converting - Gforce - 06-20-2013 Vacuum is controlled by the ecu, you can use a boost accurator instead of the original vacuum acurator RE: om606 turbo converting - Druk - 06-20-2013 What he said ^. Throw the vacuum actuator away and make a bracket to mount a pressure actuator. Take a tapping from the turbo outlet casting or weld a boss into the pipe. I got all my silicone rubber, intercooler and alloy pipes here... http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Auto-Performance-Silicone-Hoses/ASH-Silicone-Hoses-Tubes-/_i.html?_fsub=450466019 Try Dieselmeken (username) on here for an actuator. . RE: om606 turbo converting - stripy - 06-20-2013 thanks for help. new actuator is on it's way. do you know how to adjust the diesel pump? RE: om606 turbo converting - Druk - 06-20-2013 Speak to Dieselmeken. You also need an ALDA on the IP to increase fuelling proportional to boost and 6mm elements to match the fuel needs of a 962. RE: om606 turbo converting - stripy - 06-21-2013 found this thread: http://www.superturbodiesel.com/std/thread-189.html i'm gonna try this out. but i guess i need those 6mm elements to get more fuel annyway? RE: om606 turbo converting - maxypriest - 06-21-2013 Druk - nice engine bay there - what have you got your 606 in? Cheers, Max RE: om606 turbo converting - Druk - 06-21-2013 (06-21-2013, 07:27 AM)maxypriest Druk - nice engine bay there - what have you got your 606 in? Thanks. It's in an R107. ex 280SL petrol. . RE: om606 turbo converting - maxypriest - 06-21-2013 Wow, that's fantastic. Any issues with the RHD steering/turbo? Max RE: om606 turbo converting - Druk - 06-21-2013 (06-21-2013, 11:21 AM)maxypriest Any issues with the RHD steering/turbo? I routed the pipe (60mm dia) down in front of the steering box. The hydraulic steering pipe in the pic had to be sheathed in a silicone cover however the 107 lends itself well to this route because of the curved Pitman arm. RE: om606 turbo converting - stripy - 06-25-2013 annyone know where te oil level is on the oil pan? need to know how high i need to put the oil return. |
