My 1983 300D "Portia" - capflya - 08-07-2013 Well it is time... putting the car up for sale here first in case anybody is looking for a car, or just wants a fairly low mile engine/trans. It's not perfect but I have treated it well and have replaced parts here and there. I'm not sure exactly why but my wife named the car Portia. If you want to know why I'll have to ask Engine/trans have ~165k miles on them. They came out of an 85 federal emissions car with 135k and I have put around 30k miles on it. I left the 3.07 diff in so the car has the "torque monster" (forget where I heard that..) setup which is the higher stall torque converter from the 85 trans with the 3.07 diff instead of the 2.88 that was in the 85. Front seats were swapped with some from a w124. They're in nice shape and the bolsters actually keep you in the seat a bit. Right now the car has some 15" wheels I got from my dad. He got them on CL and decided he didn't like them. I needed something to keep the car rolling so I could snag the Ronal's off of it for my w124. Chrome is peeling but they're round and they're not bundts! Front LCA bushings are new. Both front ball joints are also recently replaced. (both <1yr I think, would have to look up the date when I replaced them with the lemforder parts). Figured I would start out at $1700 obo, hopefully nobody thinks I'm crazy If somebody really likes these wheels I'm open for a trade for some bundts as long as the tires aren't shot. **edit I forgot to add the front coil springs are chopped one coil. I can get stock springs to install if the buyer wants stock. RE: My 1983 300D "Portia" - MFSuper90 - 08-08-2013 I'll take that 07 Dmax for that price RE: My 1983 300D "Portia" - capflya - 08-08-2013 Hahaha.... I just got new tires for it and they were more than I'm asking for this whole car LOL RE: My 1983 300D "Portia" - MFSuper90 - 08-10-2013 It looks like a nice car, why so cheap? RE: My 1983 300D "Portia" - capflya - 08-12-2013 clear coat is peeling, car was repainted because it was in an accident at some point. Has a salvage title from a front end collision but the damage didn't look too bad, I wouldn't have bought the car if it was terrible. The car is a good 50' car but up close you can see it's not perfect. RE: My 1983 300D "Portia" - capflya - 08-24-2013 Sold the car this week locally on craigslist. |
