OM602 project - Blip - 08-13-2013 Hi, first post here. I have an OM602 from a manual Daewoo Musso. The handbook says it's a 602, the block says 662. I'm looking to mate this up to a mercedes autobox (722.4). Will I need to change to an IP from an automatic? I know most would swap from auto to manual, so perhaps the best way of doing it is to find someone doing such a swap and exchange parts? (that is, if my IP is suitable?) Some pics: Pump ID plate: Many thanks for any info RE: OM602 project - hooblah - 08-13-2013 Hey im removing the auto box from my w210. Ill also have a 602 IP going spare when I do my conversion. You interested? RE: OM602 project - Blip - 08-13-2013 Hi, yes I'm interested, I'll send you a pm now RE: OM602 project - Blip - 08-13-2013 Is there a difference between injector pumps from manual and auto engines or are they the same? I've found the video below which, from 0:15, shows a part with a cable linkage on. Is that a bolt on part that goes behind the pump? If I can keep my existing IP and bolt on that extra bit then bravo RE: OM602 project - aaa - 08-14-2013 That bolt-on part is the cruise control. The main thing you need is the vacuum control valve which bolts onto the side of the pump where that orange bolt is in your picture. I would get one and see if it fits on there. You can also try to see if 602 throttle linkage will work (the 603 cruise + linkage you saw will not fit in the smaller space on a 602). RE: OM602 project - Blip - 08-16-2013 Thanks very much for the info. After lots of reading i'm starting to get a better picture of what I need RE: OM602 project - mxfrank - 08-20-2013 (08-16-2013, 11:45 AM)Blip Thanks very much for the info. After lots of reading i'm starting to get a better picture of what I need The 2.5 turbo's had transmissions with an extra plate in each clutch pack, I presume to handle the extra torque. I don't know if you can simply add a plate to a normal 722.4. The part numbers that I know are: 722.413 (190DT) 722.418 (300D 2.5) You're also going to need a bowden cable link. You would need one extra disc and friction disc then the snap ring acts as the shim. RE: OM602 project - pmj4147 - 09-03-2013 First of all It's ssangyong not a daewoo the engine is called 662LA which is licensed by SSmotor 2.9litre, idi cyl head. and i think the manual gear is a better option first, merc automatic gearbox will not match with borg-warner 4wd system. never ever. second, that manual gearbox can handle aprox 300whp but 270whp is a maximum power with ssangyong 662LA Of course you can make more power with over 7mm but engine can't handle... i used that 662 since 2002 and i never saw 270whp over with durability. IT WILL BLOW!!!!!!!!!!!! and one more.... your musso have 4.27 final ratio think about it.......... RE: OM602 project - Blip - 09-05-2013 (09-03-2013, 04:17 PM)pmj4147 First of all The musso will be in scrapyard heaven, and the engine in a RWD car wanting no more power than 200 horsies. Thanks for the autobox info btw |
