I'm looking for tyres in 205/50/16 size, or something that will fit a 16 x 6.5j rim & not be more than 621mm OD, I'd like to keep the cost down but I also want something that grips well in wet & dry & has reasonable tread life.
Something with a sidewall that offers some rim protection is a bunus.

discount tire has 205/55/r16 hankook ventus for $68 each or 205/50/r16 kumho ectas tires for $73each
