722.6 in a w124 help!!!! - mario - 11-04-2013 Well I have decided to fit a 722.6 to my 300ce which has a om605 turbo fitted. My main questions are Is the 722.6 the same length as the 722.3 that is in the car at the moment. My other question is are the output yokes interchangeable on the 722.6 A's the yoke on my donor box is bigger then the shaft in the car at the moment. The reason I am asking this that I had to get a custom shaft made as it is a coupe. Thanks In advance folk RE: 722.6 in a w124 help!!!! - whipplem104 - 11-04-2013 The 722.6 is about 3/8" longer. The driveshaft has enough play in it to take this up though. You can swap any 722.6 flange from any other. There are 90mm, 100mm, and 110mm 3 bolt flanges. RE: 722.6 in a w124 help!!!! - mario - 11-04-2013 Cheers for that info as this means the project might get done very soon. Just one last question are the pipes in the same place on both gearboxes and what oil do you use in them. Thanks Dave RE: 722.6 in a w124 help!!!! - SuperCow - 11-04-2013 You know the 722.6 is fully electronic and will not work without the ECU? The only way is to use a custom ECU controller, as the stock one is almost impossible to get to work. RE: 722.6 in a w124 help!!!! - mario - 11-05-2013 I am getting one off the site here RE: 722.6 in a w124 help!!!! - polarisrmk - 08-02-2017 How is the flange measured? I am doing this swap right now and I cant tell which flange I have/need RE: 722.6 in a w124 help!!!! - whipplem104 - 08-02-2017 It is measured by bolt circle diameter. Same as a wheel bolt pattern. So basically draw a circle through the center of the bolt all the way around like a compass. Measure that circles diameter. Generally you will have 90mm 100mm or 115mm 3 or 4 bolt bolt circles. Large AMG cars have 4 bolt 120mm. |
