A question for euro users - Roman_TDI - 01-07-2014 Hey guys, any ideas where to search for an OM606 in Europe? I'm from the Czech Republic and these cars/engines are hard to come by here so I was thinking there must be some sites selling car parts that might have some OM606 for sale? Or do you think it would be worthy to buy a w210 with a good conditioned engine, keep the engine and sell the rest for parts? What do you think is better? Thanks a lot! Roman RE: A question for euro users - Tito - 01-07-2014 If you have the space it, I would defiantly buy a complete car. RE: A question for euro users - Simpler=Better - 01-07-2014 Germany or England? Don't those two countries fail good cars on inspections and it's easier to sell than fix? RE: A question for euro users - Tito - 01-07-2014 I see a LOT of imported Mercedes cars here from Germany that failed their test indeed. RE: A question for euro users - Roman_TDI - 01-07-2014 Yea, I'm pretty sure there must be tons of these engines for sale in Germany but since my German is VERY basic it's like impossible for me to google out some advertisement sites where might be a real chance to stumble upon an om606. Which is why I asked here after all The space for a car will hopefully soon not be an issue so I also think it might be the best solution. Looking at the prices at mobile.de etc I might have the engine for really cheap if not for free (depending on the price and condition of the donor car of course). Still would like to see someone post some german car parts sites though! Thanks for the replies guys! RE: A question for euro users - swampmonkey - 01-07-2014 mobile.de use google chrome as webbrowser, (it will translate the site for you automatic) and look for a w210 300tdt.. from like 1997-1999 or a w210 sedan with the turbodiesel 300dt.. the way they shorten it down can differ, sorted out *mercedes *300 between 1996 and 2001.. http://suchen.mobile.de/auto/font-font-mercedes-benz-font-font-300.html?scopeId=C&isSearchRequest=true&sortOption.sortBy=price.consumerGrossEuro&lang=de&makeModelVariant1.makeId=17200&makeModelVariant1.modelDescription=300&minFirstRegistrationDate=1994-01-01&maxFirstRegistrationDate=2001-12-31&ambitCountry=DE RE: A question for euro users - _siim_ - 01-08-2014 Around 1000-. euros costs w210 turbodiesel with om606 and right gearbox 722.6 Choice is germany or england or latvia or lithuania. RE: A question for euro users - Roman_TDI - 01-26-2014 ^ Thanks for the info! Any sites with source of cars from these countries? Other than mobile.de and autoscout24 RE: A question for euro users - Druk - 01-26-2014 From the UK. The price for this is above average imho but the mileage is low. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-3-0L-6cyl-Turbo-Diesel-Engine-E300-G-Wagen-/191044872251?fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en RE: A question for euro users - Druk - 01-26-2014 In www.ebay.co.uk do a search on "spares or repair mercedes 300 diesel' http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313&_nkw=spares+or+repair+mercedes+300+diesel&_sacat=0&_from=R40 What you should bear in mind is if you are considering buying and driving back to Czech a complete car then it must be road legal for the UK. That means a valid MOT test certificate, Insurance and Road Tax disc. Without all of them you will be recognised by an ANPR (automatic numberplate recognition camera) and the police will confiscate the car until you can pay the tax due and any fine they impose. All of the above are now held on a central computer database and the police are cracking down on offenders. There are ANPR cameras everywhere. . RE: A question for euro users - MFSuper90 - 01-26-2014 ANPR?! Wow that's crazy! Makes me glad I love in rural America so I can drive trucks around with no licenses on them RE: A question for euro users - Roman_TDI - 01-27-2014 Thanks a lot Druk, you're being very helpful! Anyway I'm still just gathering info as I dont have the space to store an extra car neither an engine. And I might even decide to finish my Seat Ibiza TDI project and start gathering parts for the Merc meanwhile. We'll see Thank you guys! |
