NEED (123) alternator Housing... ALL SET, THANKS - OM616 - 01-16-2014
Hi everyone.. My alternator gave out and the housing is cracked, so I need a rebuildable core to have rebuilt. A good empty housing would be fine too.
The car is a 84 300D (123) with a 617a
Mine has a two belt pulley..
I have had such bad luck with chain store rebuilds that I will not do another one. Just my luck that mine has a bad housing..

ALX129 was only $120 last I checked, could be time for an upgrade?

I’m not familiar with that part number.. I assume it is a higher out put?
The stock one puts out enough power.. When it is working I should say lol..

It's a 115a alt if I remember correctly.
I think I have an alternator at home, it might even be good. I'll look when I get home and let you know.

I ran one in my 300D, you need to make up battery cables. If you're cheap you can mod the stock one. Last I knew advance auto had 2ga for stupid cheap, like $25 for 50ft when you bought the whole roll.

You may or may not need to clock the housing to get past an AC hose, and the pulley may or may not need to be swapped.

I do have an alternator. It was a bosch reman, even says mercedes on it. Has a little noise when I spin in but it could just be because it sat for a while. If you want it let me know and we can work something out.
