will a M-series injection pump, modified by Dieselmeken, work on my '79 300SD? - 300SD_KY - 01-30-2014 will a M-series injection pump, modified by Dieselmeken, work on my '79 300SD? stock, my 300SD has the MW-series unmodified injection pump. Anyone? RE: will a M-series injection pump, modified by Dieselmeken, work on my '79 300SD? - sassparilla_kid - 01-30-2014 Yeah, but you'll need to get a bigger turbo to pump more air to burn all that fuel!! And I think there might be something with the oil feed too but I could be mistaken RE: will a M-series injection pump, modified by Dieselmeken, work on my '79 300SD? - lgreeley83 - 01-30-2014 You need different hardliners and linkage or you can make custom stuff. Oil supply just plug a hole on the block with a bolt. Its not that hard a job, my first pump swap ever was this task but I had lines and linkage. Lots of reading for Jedi status. :-) And like SAS said. Air u needz it. RE: will a M-series injection pump, modified by Dieselmeken, work on my '79 300SD? - Simpler=Better - 01-30-2014 Nope, better just send me the 10mm pump for proper disposal. RE: will a M-series injection pump, modified by Dieselmeken, work on my '79 300SD? - 300SD_KY - 01-31-2014 didn't Rudolf_Diesel have a modified Myna super-pump on his 300SDL ... Differences? RE: will a M-series injection pump, modified by Dieselmeken, work on my '79 300SD? - lgreeley83 - 01-31-2014 I read somewhere...don't quote me....their pumps don't idle well. I could be wayyyyy off on that. Simple was joking with you too. :-) Really the swap isn't too hard. Just need lots of air! I got Dieselmeken 6mm pump and even that is a crap load a fuel. The hard fuel lines need to be bent a little to make it work. I have a manual trans so I don't know what you'd have to do to have the linkage right. No advice there. When you think about money...the pump is only on part. Spending 1000-1500 or more gets you the pump. But then you need bigger turbo. The 60 trim mod you should forget. I have that and at 20psi I still need a lot more air. Going hx30 or something with intercooler in the next few months. Once you got that going. You start breaking stuff. Destroy your trans, differential. I realized I need a new clutch. Maybe that stuff doesn't break but if it was close to broken before....probably done. All that said, do it!!!!! :-) |
