You said big diesel. One of the nice things about the duramax is that it was designed to fit into multiple platforms. I wouldn't call it a big diesel though.
I'd imagine one would fit in a 300 if it fit in a Mustang. I doubt that a Cummins or a Power choke would though. Either way MAJOR reinforcements to the frame would be required.

Big diesel I think of 12v92 detroits and 3408 CATs
I think a 4/6bt, dirtymax, or 4 cylinder isuzi would be cool to do.
The next part is the weight, and getting it to bolt up to something that will fit in the tranny tunnel without major mods.
