G350TD conversion to 320CDI with gearbox - kolekiire - 04-09-2014 Hi I have done this swap and ain't jeaolus to share. Parts donor was w210 E320CDI from year 2000. Parts used from E class: engine OM613, gearbox, ECU,ETC,EIS,ESL,ESM, kickdown switch Other parts: 1. Homokinetic shaft from gearbox to transfer case some newer G wagon (30mm shorter than 350TD has). 2. Flange to gearbox output shaft from newer G wagon 3. Gearbox rear bracket custom made (pic included on post) 4. ESP emulator custom made Intercooler building on progress and goes water to air. Drives much better than before i have to say after first 1000km. RE: G350TD conversion to 320CDI with gearbox - INC - 04-09-2014 Nice job neigbour Gearbox working ok with low gear? How is solwed ESP emulation? Done that with 250TD and 722.6, but i use gearbox TCU and speed sensor with relais from G300TD. Ints RE: G350TD conversion to 320CDI with gearbox - AlanMcR - 04-09-2014 Very impressive! More details please! Where did the electronics get installed? 722.6 transmission? Drive Authorization? ABS integration? Clearance issues? Drive shaft changes? Performance before & after? Fuel Economy? RE: G350TD conversion to 320CDI with gearbox - kolekiire - 04-10-2014 (04-09-2014, 03:52 PM)INC Gearbox working ok with low gear? With low gear ok, because ESP emulator takes account of the transfer case shifter pos. ESP emulator is custom made with standalone microcontroller. It has vss signal inputs, brake pedal input, handbrake input, transfer case pos switches inputs, 2 CAN ports. Another is for E original cluster and act likes gateway, only difference is speed messages is corrected. ESP emulator calculates two speeds, one for ETC and another real speed for driver. Speed calculation koefitsents can be corrected as needed. The device also emulates missing cluster if needed. I have cluster replaced with 10" tft monitor. (04-09-2014, 06:45 PM)AlanMcR Where did the electronics get installed? Where did the electronics get installed? I bought the whole driving car. (main reason was canbus hacking) From there i got ECU,ETC,EIS,smartkey,ESL,ESM. All the other electronics is emulated, mainly ESP. 722.6 transmission? yes Drive Authorization? DAS 3 as original E class. (ECU,EIS,smartkeys,ESL) ABS integration? no, ABS i use G wagon original like it was Clearance issues? steering box need to shifted to the left 50mm. Oil pan needs some welding. Drive shaft changes? newer G homokinetic shaft and flange for gearbox output shaft. MB orig parts, i guess from G270CDI. OE numbers can get from seller, on the invoice has only their codes. Performance before & after? Nothing measured yet, but completly different feeling. Fuel Economy? 16,6l per 100km is first impression, but real numbers can deliver a bit later. RE: G350TD conversion to 320CDI with gearbox - kolekiire - 04-23-2014 (04-09-2014, 06:45 PM)AlanMcR Fuel Economy? 12,8l/100km or about 18,4mpg (still without intercooler) RE: G350TD conversion to 320CDI with gearbox - w124tony - 05-01-2014 well done great project. You used all original wiring looms and controllers, engine hardware and an emulator to substitute for the missing ESP and missing cluster, is that correct? Does the emulator do anything else? Is the emulator a can bus device? Did you make it yourself? RE: G350TD conversion to 320CDI with gearbox - kolekiire - 05-04-2014 (05-01-2014, 09:28 AM)w124tony well done great project. You used all original wiring looms and controllers, engine hardware and an emulator to substitute for the missing ESP and missing cluster, is that correct? Does the emulator do anything else? Almost correct. Under the hood wiring loom i separeted only necessary wires (turbo vacuum, egr, preglow). Directly from engine comes one wiring loom to ECU no need to change. Exact same story with gearbox. yes, it a can bus device, based on microcontroller. yes i did this myself. Almost all the original electronics (ECU,ETC, engine fuse box, diag.plug) is shown here This computer box came from same donor car and is ventilated with saloon air as original. RE: G350TD conversion to 320CDI with gearbox - kolekiire - 05-29-2014 Water to air intercooler has done. |
