replacement car? - Purplecomputer - 06-23-2014 Think I may have found it http://longisland.craigslist.org/cto/4489881111.html RE: replacement car? - MFSuper90 - 06-23-2014 Nice car, pretty steep price. biggest problem, no turbo RE: replacement car? - Purplecomputer - 06-24-2014 (06-23-2014, 08:52 PM)MFSuper90 Nice car, pretty steep price. Well I did drive a 240d no turbo for like two years. The rear bumper is weird. Looks like he took it from a 115 or something RE: replacement car? - Simpler=Better - 06-24-2014 If you want reliable and cheap get: 94ish camry(auto or stick) with the 22re (4cyl) Any Ford with the 2.3 lima (only stick avoid the autos)(foxbody, thunderbird, ranger, some taurus/escort I think) If you want GM get a Buick with the naturally aspirated 3800, I like the LeSabres. $200 for all around brakes on one of those, can still hit 30mpg even though it's a big 6cyl. All of those cars are under 2k in grandma-driven condition. ugly enough to avoid attention, super reliable, efficient, and can keep up with traffic. Get one of these badboys as your DD, then take your time with the purple 240. An air hammer & LOTS of time but you can straighten her out. EDIT: Get a LeSabre. You can park horribbly, drive with your signal one, pretty much do whatever you want and no one will look at you funny, they just think that Grandma had a bad bay. RE: replacement car? - CRD4x4 - 06-24-2014 I've got a bunch of cheap easy project cars if you're looking for one. Just look @ my signature below and pick from the list (excluding Jeep & VW); RE: replacement car? - Purplecomputer - 06-24-2014 (06-24-2014, 07:49 AM)Simpler=Better If you want reliable and cheap get: You're right. I probably do need a car like those. I work 7 days a week. As much as i love these old mercs they do need time set aside for work/maintenance. Ill try to find the ugliest car I can and not worry about it anymore. i was planning on taking whatever they could as well as keep the car. Wasnt sure If I would part it out on here or just keep it. Both require time just one will make me money the other will cost me money. donations are welcome to fix this thing up RE: replacement car? - MFSuper90 - 06-24-2014 Just get an old beater, like a $500 car that is reliable enough, but yet junkie enough you don't give a crap if it gets dinged up. Little old civics and small cars like that can be pretty cheap but yet still reliable.
