Would it be possible to put my current inline 5 mech. pump on a om602 2.9 from a sprinter? Im hearing it uses a rotary pump and direct injection and common rail..
i have been thinking of replacing my 2.5td with a rebuilt 2.9td with a modded IP

It's not common rail, its direct injection with an electronic VE pump but you can make this pump mechanical

Is it an expensive / complicated conversion ie a diesel specialist or are the parts available for diy

Buy a om662la engine there same just without the common rail & electronic injector pump , the 662's run a a inline mechanical injector pump as well
