om605 turbo oil feed - RickyE - 10-10-2014

Hello

I was wondering what yous are doing for the oil feed pipe when fitting bigger turbos?

Do i need to use the stock end at the block and weld a fitting onto it for a longer pipe?

Cheers

RE: om605 turbo oil feed - Duncansport - 10-10-2014

I just used 3/8th (10mm)steel line and reused the factory fitting and made my own bubble flare pipe to the turbo.

I was considering going to an fittings, but the only 16x1.5 adaptors i can find are flat faced and i dont know if they would seal on the block

Thanks max, ill order the an fittings

What size pipe did you go for?

RE: om605 turbo oil feed - Max - 10-12-2014

Hi,

I used Dash 6 ( 9/16 - 18 UNF ).

RE: om605 turbo oil feed - Repetitio - 09-23-2015

hi got a question...i got myself some flex lines and dash fittings. But for oil feed to the turbo i dont have the fittings. The tube has got 14mm diameter in the inside. Wich dash fittings should i take? dash 4? dash 6? for the 21mm return line i got dash 10...

We used a compression fitting on the hardline coming out the block, (cut it with 3" sticking out). it converted to 3/8" BSP hydraulic fitting but you can get them to AN.

Like that

ah ok, thanks but got myself some fittings from the m16x1,5 to the 3/8 npt from the hose already. Hope it fits and no leaks then  Dodgy

I made mine like this today. Used the old stock hardlines and bended them so it fit. This is a mix of 603 and 606 hoses joined togheter Smile Will make a support for the hose onto the top later. I was thinking about AN connectors and steel braided hoses but the guy I spoke with at the hose specialist told me to keep the hardlines when it's close to high temperature equipment like manifold/turbo.

IMHO hard lines are better if you have equipment to make them, good choice. They can't flop around like hoses do and they look much more professional. Hoses on parts that don't move look like an unfinished job.

Ermeto couplings make this easy Wink Two spanners is all you need Big Grin

Looks very good!

What sort of tubing wall thickness, tubing bender and flare tool do you use? I am rigging up compounds, so I will probably put a T near the block and run hard lines from there.
