Pump adjustment OM603A - Einar - 08-17-2009 Hi. I have a `91 300 TD Turbo, the diesel pump was turned up before I bought it. Want to adjust it back to original, so I can know how it is adjusted. Does anyone know what turbo pressure to be on original, KKK-turbo? Any tips for this adjustment back to original? Thanks for all replyes. I think you mean you have a 1991 300SD Quote:Does anyone know what turbo pressure to be on original, KKK-turbo?12psi is the factory setting. Quote:Any tips for this adjustment back to original?Without knowing exactly what was done to the pump its impossible to get it back exactly stock (Thats why I document every adjustment I do to my pump). At best, everyone would be guessing. Unless you find out what was done, the only way to get it to stock is to remove the pump and have an injection shop do a bench calibration. I think you mean you have a 1991 300SD Data card VIN WDB1241931F184501 I believe this is a 1991 Mercedes-Benz E 300 TD Turbo Sportline This is the pump, does anybody have a good explanation of the adjustment of the pump, I believe a screw right underneath the alda-valve(pointing backwards) have been turned up. If I adjust the boost back to original, and adjust the pump to almost no smoke I would think it would be close to original, now it have a diesel-blue smoke on idle for a while, very easy to start cold and not so easy hot, so I want it closer to original, then I can know what the adjustments on the pump and boost is. The engine is overhauled for 1000 miles ago, new head, piston rings, rod bearings and head gasket, I had 2 broken secondary compression rings before that. RE: Pump adjustment OM603A - ForcedInduction - 08-18-2009 Norway, that explains a lot. The only year that model was sold in the USA was 1987. Adjusting the ALDA is easy, CW to reduce fuel, CCW to increase. It does not alter maximum fuel or power, it changes the fuel delivery curve. There is no set point, adjust it until no black smoke is visible when you floor the throttle from a standstill. Sorry I forgot to mention that, it was my intention to do that, but this messy head I have.... Only `87 you had them. I have a wcrew who is pointing backward right underneath tha ALDA, I can see it`s been adjusted, what does screw do. Thanks for the answers so long :-) RE: Pump adjustment OM603A - ForcedInduction - 08-18-2009 The screw is for the fine idle adjustment. RE: Pump adjustment OM603A - tomnik - 08-18-2009 Hi, besides ALDA check also the lift pump for low pressure. This was the reason for idle smoke on my 300 TDT. I could hear the difference when I operated the original and the replacement lift pump by hand (taken off the IP pressing the roller). Tom RE: Pump adjustment OM603A - Einar - 08-31-2009 Someone who have a good explanation/picture with all the adjustments?
