Factory CB Radio? - mo1971fordcrew - 02-22-2015 Hey all, When I was doing my manual climate control swap I noticed a CB radio looking coaxial wire under my dash. It appears to go with the factory wire loom. I also traced the wire to behind the spare tire on my wagon. It's a 1980 300TD. Did these things have such option? Here are some pics: RE: Factory CB Radio? - CRD4x4 - 02-22-2015 My '81 300TD turbo has the same CB setup. My '82 might also but I haven't looked for it. I was hoping to see if MB sold/optioned a specific CB radio for their cars or if that was up to the buyer. It'd be fun to have. RE: Factory CB Radio? - raysorenson - 02-23-2015 I had a Corvette with a CB built into the factory radio. The antenna was integrated into the regular power antenna. The radio would automatically mute for the CB. It was pretty cool. RE: Factory CB Radio? - Greazzer - 02-24-2015 My 83 240D had the same exact set up. I never knew I had it until it was hitting the blower motor and causing this weird clicking sound. I removed it. RE: Factory CB Radio? - w123love - 02-24-2015 I think they all came with them. RE: Factory CB Radio? - mo1971fordcrew - 02-24-2015 Weird! It would be cool to find out what radio they stuck in these (if they did) . For the time being, I think I will just put a generic one in! RE: Factory CB Radio? - NZScott - 02-25-2015 I had a 1984 pommy 240TD that was setup like that. My mechanic reckoned it was the old car phone system or something. Oh and mechanic is restoring said car... |
