w124 suspension? - edwinhoff - 04-23-2015 i have a w124 sedan and i was lokking to change out the suspension.. i have heard that e36 coilovers fit on the front but then not sure in the back.. is there another option you guys recommend.. RE: w124 suspension? - Mr_Robs - 04-24-2015 For the rear shock you can use a saab 900 rear shock, or a ford ranger front shock. I am using a Bilstein ranger shock for the rear of my W124 and E36 M3 Bilstein for the front. Just need to order H&R springs (i was previously planning to put bags on the car but sold the air ride). Part # for the shock to use in the rear Bilstein 24-137430 46mm Monotube Shock Absorber Hope that helps! RE: w124 suspension? - ak47is1337 - 04-24-2015 Will this lower the car at all? Trying to judge whether to use the saab/ranger struts to replace my 1987 300td wagon. Want to maintain stock height. RE: w124 suspension? - Mr_Robs - 04-24-2015 Nope, the spring controls the ride hight. But this shock has a lower overall stroke which is ideal for lower cars, something to think about if your car is at a high stock hight. RE: w124 suspension? - Duncansport - 04-30-2015 I installed the H & R kit on my 124 and i really love it. You really don't need to reinvent the wheel with the suspension on these cars. RE: w124 suspension? - ak47is1337 - 04-30-2015 did that lower the car at all? do you have a wagon? RE: w124 suspension? - Duncansport - 04-30-2015 It lowered it to much (for me) I ended up putting 10+mm M-B spacers in the rear and +5mm in the front. No, i have a sedan. |
