Ford LCF sequential turbo in an OM617? - raysorenson - 07-11-2015 This turbo makes a little over 440 lb/ft or 600nm and 200hp on a 4 valve 4.5l engine. By looking at a dyno plot, it appears that it makes full boost/peak torque at 1800 rpm. How would a "superpump" equipped 617 in a 3500#/1600kg manual trans 4x4 that has to tow occasionally drive with this turbo? Wild internet crazy folk conjecture welcome. Thanks for reading, and since we all love pics: RE: Ford LCF sequential turbo in an OM617? - MFSuper90 - 07-11-2015 I think the electronics of the turbo would be the toughest part RE: Ford LCF sequential turbo in an OM617? - raysorenson - 07-11-2015 Yeah, wrong pic. That's probably a Ford 6.4 dzl turbo. The 4.5 has regular wastegates but looks pretty much the same. It's a Borg Warner R2s sequential. RE: Ford LCF sequential turbo in an OM617? - DiseaselWeasel - 07-12-2015 Similar thing can be had from Mercedes OM651 engine and some smaler capacity IVECO engines... http://sis00.de/37986/img/1372415196_tt24_A278_1.JPG http://sis00.de/37986/img/1372417440_tt24_A278_2.JPG RE: Ford LCF sequential turbo in an OM617? - atypicalguy - 12-05-2015 Depends upon desired power and the wheels on the turbo. There are a lot of different k27 turbos. There is a smaller set from the 2005 535d that would spool earlier probs. |
