Programmable tcu for factory cars with a 722.6 - whipplem104 - 07-17-2015 Just wanted to post that in the new PCS tcm that I am working with will be able to work in factory cars as a direct replacement. It is a bit off from being released. We are in testing now and currently is a drop in for egs52 and most likely egs 53. I will have to do some testing for the egs51 tcu cars. The tuning is a lot different as it is amperage based and is multistage for more control. I will update as it goes for those that are interested. RE: Programmable tcu for factory cars with a 722.6 - JSJFIN - 07-20-2015 When is release date? RE: Programmable tcu for factory cars with a 722.6 - whipplem104 - 07-22-2015 Honestly I do not know right now. It is greatly different than the tcm-2000 and I am working on tuning right now. I need to get a solid tune in and see how it transfers from vehicle to vehicle. So a lot of testing still to do. I would think that at best I might start trying some local sales in a few months. So I can support it more easily. RE: Programmable tcu for factory cars with a 722.6 - whipplem104 - 07-22-2015 Well good new for egs51 cars at least with tiptronic. It seems just the start byte and engine torque are different for the inputs. I need to check the start byte in the original tcm and if it is in the same location I can change that easily. Also I can just switch over to a tps based map for these cars instead of adding another tq message to the firmware. I am down on my CAN analyzer right now but will see what it takes as soon as I am back up and running. Lost some equipment last weekend and need to replace this among a few other things. But otherwise it looks like it should be pretty straight forward to get it up and running in the egs51 cars. So far only 4 matics are out for sure. RE: Programmable tcu for factory cars with a 722.6 - 97e300 - 07-23-2015 Will this work on w210's? RE: Programmable tcu for factory cars with a 722.6 - whipplem104 - 07-24-2015 Early w210 cars are egs51. I still need to sort out the start byte for sure. I can set the tcu to run off of a a torque map based from tps and rpm. Since the torque signal is in a different location. I have a new CAN interface cable coming in to day. SO I am hopefully going to confirm the start byte. So the simple answer right now is no. But I will have more info shortly. RE: Programmable tcu for factory cars with a 722.6 - whipplem104 - 07-24-2015 Well the egs51 cars are out for now. The start byte is in a different location rather than being a different value. So it may be a while if ever. Egs52 with me 2.1 is also out. So it is looking like just lager vehicles. If I get the start byte changed at a later time, over for a different firmware version I will update here. RE: Programmable tcu for factory cars with a 722.6 - 97e300 - 08-07-2015 Any news on this? RE: Programmable tcu for factory cars with a 722.6 - whipplem104 - 08-07-2015 I have been testing in different vehicles. So far it is really just going to be ME2.8 and the equivalent vehicles like the CDI and the siemens m111 engines with egs52 and 53. It can do some odd ball in between cars. The problem is that the CAN info is completely different in the early cars. Otherwise I am still working on the new tuning platform and need to put some more serious time in driving. I am going to have a newer Dodge charger to test with for several weeks as this is my main market for the product and then I will also do a standalone version in my daily driver for a little more long term testing of the general transmission functions. If I get down the road for a couple of months without any real safety problems then I will start releasing them instead of the tcm-2000 that I currently sell. RE: Programmable tcu for factory cars with a 722.6 - whipplem104 - 08-10-2017 I think I might have figured out a easy way to integrate with the older cars. I am going to test it out soon. But I think I might be able to get this working in the pre 2000 model cars with a couple of simple settings rather than new firmware. |
