Anyone replaced the SLS rear suspension? - m1tch - 08-06-2015 Hi all, I will be looking to remove the SLS rear suspension in my W210 wagon, I unfortunately can't just replace the rear shocks with normal ones as the mountings are different it seems. Has anyone on here replaced the rear SLS suspension at all - I think I have seen a few kits to change them over but I am guessing a simple plate welded in at the top might just be the easier option! RE: Anyone replaced the SLS rear suspension? - EmJay - 08-06-2015 I know its popular to do that with the 190 2.3-16. They use E500 springs IIRC. Not too sure on a w210 RE: Anyone replaced the SLS rear suspension? - m1tch - 08-06-2015 (08-06-2015, 07:45 AM)EmJay I know its popular to do that with the 190 2.3-16. They use E500 springs IIRC. Not too sure on a w210 Thanks, I will see what they do, I have seen a conversion kit which seems to just have a washer/mount for the top of the sedan shocks, I will be stripping out some of the car for weight saving soon so will check to see how the top of the standard shocks are attached. RE: Anyone replaced the SLS rear suspension? - Gasoil - 08-25-2015 Yes, I removed the rear SLS suspension in my W124 Wagon, pump, reservoir, lines, spheres, rear shocks, all removed, I fitted Nissan Terrano-Ford Maverick Bilstein front shocks. Are they a direct swap over? Do I need to do anything with the top mounts at all? |
