Daily driver STD - W202 - OM662 Pump - benjy_b - 09-19-2015 Hello all, this is my first post My name is Ben, I live in Leeds, UK. I've got a 1997 W202 Mercedes C250 TD Manual Saloon "Classic" that I'm wanting to STD. The car will be my daily drive, so I'm not after huge power. I think something around 250-300bhp would be great. I'm more interested in a smooth, gradual power delivery. So... I've recently picked up this: It's a manual pump from a 1998 Ssangyong Korando 2.9D, which I know to be fitted with an OM662 engine. The engine had done 113,450 miles, which I gather is rather low As far as I'm aware, this pump will be compatible with my OM605? So, my biggest question, what elements/modifications to the pump would be required to achieve my goal? I'm thinking 8mm & external ALDA? I'd really like for there to be some room for increased power later in time, but if this would sacrifice drivability I'd stick to smaller elements. RE: Daily driver STD - W202 - OM662 Pump - barrote - 09-19-2015 hy , pm me , maybe we can achieve something on that. RE: Daily driver STD - W202 - OM662 Pump - Hario' - 02-02-2016 Ballpark = 7.5mm elements and Holset Hy35 to give you a cheap and not very laggy 300 beans. Be aware there is a controller for the stock electric IP now, and that pump already has 6mm elements. RE: Daily driver STD - W202 - OM662 Pump - starynovy - 02-07-2016 OM605 only has 5.5mm elements stock, 606 has 6mm. RE: Daily driver STD - W202 - OM662 Pump - baldur - 02-07-2016 The standard OM662 pump has a horrible governor configuration, it's not really designed for turbocharging and doesn't give nearly enough fuel at low revs to spool the turbo and generate some torque. It works okay between 3000-4500RPM. Changing elements may cure this, especially if the governor is adjusted on the test bench by someone who knows its internal workings and knows what's needed for good performance. RE: Daily driver STD - W202 - OM662 Pump - barrote - 02-07-2016 the ideal pump for the OM 605 td mechanichal conversion is the PES5M55C320RS201 comonly found in the OM605N/A . All other 5 cylinder pumps do the job as well, but this one is the one that can give u the 23mm rack, without too much assle. the OM605 M with EDC governor has a 018553 element and the OM606 a 018554 both 6mm. the 018554 has no bleed at the hélix wich means that about 110cc of fuel can come out of it at 23mm rack RE: Daily driver STD - W202 - OM662 Pump - DiseaselWeasel - 02-07-2016 Ever put 6mm in n/a engine? I'm toying with the idea of making it a bit faster, sans turbo... RE: Daily driver STD - W202 - OM662 Pump - barrote - 02-07-2016 i did 7mm pump for a friend is in a sprinter with 601 2.3 N/A , i used bosch 018522 they are good for 80cc , it did rock and it still does so u can be sure to try 6mil in any N/A it wont rock that much but it will be a litle more alive!!!! till 60cc it wont smoke that much , with the 6mil, with 7, a litle less fuel around 50/55 should do the trick... |
