sensor question - Sjevsspeed.nl - 09-28-2015 finnishing up a om606 conversion into w124. asking some questions that could save me some time figuring out: Can i wire the stock om606 bdp sensor to the w124 aircon module? and the coolant temp sensor from w124 has 1 wire and from om606 has 2, can i conect it and wire the other wire to ground? RE: sensor question - barrote - 09-28-2015 very strange, that is a w 124 very old then.... mine is 2 wires in the temp sensor! u might better be swaping the sensor from the original engine in the 606.... one wire termomethers are thermocouple kind and 2 wire are variable resistor kind , i dont belive the gauge read both ... aircon, what does that module do? RPM imput? RE: sensor question - Sjevsspeed.nl - 09-28-2015 yes was thinking to do that but lost the om603 sensor, il order a new one, yes rpm signal, but flywheel and sensor is different so dont know if the module wil read it RE: sensor question - barrote - 09-28-2015 if its the same kind yes, same kind is , if sensor counts the teeth , and if they are the same amount, usually two kinds of sensor are used, phonic wheel type, a magnet signal is disturbed when the FW teeth passes over it. and a sinosoidal wave reader, wich usually is at the alternator. if 606 is magnet type , u´ll find two wires, one is the magnet wave the other is the disturbance on the force field, the ac module read from conversion box to engine speed indicator , or abs box. i belive the RPM sensor matters litle. once u´re able to have rpm indicator u are good with the modules that need rpm. i´m guessing..... RE: sensor question - Sjevsspeed.nl - 09-28-2015 sounds good, believe theyre both magnetic type, but have different mounting positions and a different tooth on the flywheel, to bad i had to get rid of the om603 to comera stuf due to space. but sounds promising, in worst case i can mount the om603 sensor because im using om603 sump and il mount the timing mark to the flywheel RE: sensor question - DiseaselWeasel - 09-28-2015 OM606 sensor reads special trigger on flywheel, OM603 sensor reads flywheel teeth for starter. Both OM603 and 606 have the same count of teeth - so with 603 sensor in 603 oil pan on 606 engine with 606 flywheel - you'r fine 606 has just some welded tabs on flywheel, apart form that they'r the same. RE: sensor question - Sjevsspeed.nl - 09-29-2015 verry good, il run the bottom 603 sensor to airconmodule and upper 606 sensor to the olefejer controller |
