Hi all, due to keeping the edc pump on my om606 and the fact that the pump rack travel isn't as good as the manual pumps I might need to get sightly larger elements fitted than what would usually be fitted so that the Max fueling is the same. I was looking at 8mm elements but I know you can get off the shelf Bosch 10mm elements from some of the banana engine ford transit vans.
Just wondering if it's worth getting elements larger than 8mm for my pump due to the smaller rack travel, looking to go for around 400-450 bhp, I won't be upgrading the internal engine parts so will just Max out the stock engine with a bit of safety margin. The car isn't my daily drive but will still need to be road legal.
Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on this - can always increase fueling via meth injection.

Never heard of the 10mm elements, at least not for an M pump but I always say get as big of injectors as possible because it keep injection time shorter. Also you can only go so far with meth before it will start to nail.

I think the biggest elements possible in an M pump are 8.5mm . Even then the barrel walls get very thin. But IMHO 8mm should be plenty for 400hp, 7.5mm is enough in a mechanical pump so 8mm should be fine in the EDC pump.

Herlevis 8mm pump is good for about 800hp if you can burn all that fuel

I think I will go with 8mm elements then, also figure that there might be idling issues if I do go too big, will go 8mm with meth injection on top.
