I found this out today and checked on the trans adapter plate and sure enough there was a pickup there. Anyone else with an 84 300D can confirm this?

Probably either a Kali model or late 84 production date. Whats it say on the door?

Non cali, might be late prod date like you say. I was wondering it might have been a TD first innovation (like turbo). Everything else is standard turben gen W123

All '84s have the RPM sensor on the intermediate plate. Just like the '85s
